Mike Hainline, PGA

mhainline@odysseygolffoundation.org

Mike Hainline, our Head PGA Professional, comes to us from the Illinois side of the Quad Cities. His resume began as an Assistant at Pinnacle Country Club in Milan, IL. He then worked as an Assistant at Indian Bluff Golf Course in Milan, IL. In addition, Mike worked as an Assistant in Florida at two different courses while working his way through his Apprenticeship with the Professional Golfers Association of America, Atlantic Country Club in West Palm Beach and Boca Lago Country Club in Boca Raton. Upon completion of his apprenticeship Mike got his first Head Pro position as the Head Professional at Western Illinois University. He served there for 10 years running the Division 1 Golf Program for the Men’s Team as well as managing and running the University owned golf course. Mike left the University to become the Head Golf Professional at Midland Country Club in Kewanee, IL. After 6 years Mike accepted the position of Director of Golf for the City of Valparaiso, IN. Soon an opportunity arose to move into the Chicagoland area and he took a position at two different facilities managed by the Billy Casper Golf Management Company. Mike continued his career by accepting the position as Head Professional at one of the top ranked public courses in the state at Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood. Mike is the proud son of a Korean War veteran who served in the Air Force and understands what a hero is when he sees one. Mike brings a wealth of experience in the industry and hopes to make every golfers experience at Odyssey a great one. Mike plans to expand on the many great programs already offered at Odyssey and hopefully create some new ones. Mike is married to his wife Connie, has two daughters and 3 grandchildren.

William Humphries

whumphres@odysseygolffoundation.org

The Odyssey Golf Foundation is so proud of our Superintendent, Bill Humphries. Bill began with us in March of 2018 and has made many major improvements to our championship course!

Humphries grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois, where after high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on active duty at the age of 18. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan from 1988-1991 where he took three tours (Team Spirit) in South Korea and one in the Philippines.

After his honorable discharge in 1991, he finished his education at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and graduated from their Turf Management program. After college, he returned to Illinois where he took an assistant superintendent job at McHenry Country Club. He was soon promoted to the head superintendent position where he oversaw operations for 17 years. During his tenure, he hosted many events such as the Illinois PGA Senior Open, the U.S. Women’s Senior Amateur Qualifier, and the Chicago Better Ball Championship.

On a personal note, Humphries has been married for 28 years and has an amazing daughter attending Marquette University under the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship.

As part of the Odyssey Golf Foundation family, Humphries is utilizing his experience to help beautify and improve the foundation’s golf course on all levels. “I am very excited to be a part of the Odyssey Golf Foundation and enjoy interacting with all of the veteran members,” he said.

“We are very excited to have Bill on our team. His energy and expertise bring a whole new dimension to our course and mission! You can see his love for his work and the game in the course beautification and changes already implemented. We are confident you will feel the same,” said Executive Director, Lisa Halikias.

Here’s to all that you do, Bill!
